Kinnectors

Performances offered during our Anniversary Event for “Kinnections” will be linked to others improvisationally through use of my Kinnector prop. Kinnectors are colorful fabric loops that have their origins in my work and study at Nickolais-Louis Dance Laboratory. Nikolais was known for his "Total Theater" approach, which blended motion, light, sound, and color in his productions. Instead of focusing solely on the individual dancer, his works explored how different artistic elements interact to create a new reality. A central part of this aesthetic was the use of elaborate and inventive props and costumes. These often masked the human form, turning dancers into abstract shapes and figures.

They are used to:

Artistically to create successful dynamic visual statements,

In Community to foster relationships and team building and

Therapeutically to embody early relational developmental health and healing.

They are FUN. The pictures say it!
